Keep absence separate from uncertainty
“Not located in the supplied documents” is different from “did not happen.” Require the system to preserve that distinction. If a date is inferred, label it as inferred. If a source is illegible, say so. If two documents conflict, retain both accounts and their sources. An empty field should not silently become a confident conclusion.
