The idea

Seeing a file name in a chat does not show that the model used every page. The app may send the whole text, a few passages, or a summary. A scan may need text extraction first. That step can miss words or tables.

What to check

The context window is the space available for an interaction. Instructions, source text, chat history, and output can use that space. The exact limits depend on the tool. Text that fits may still be overlooked.

Before a document task, list the files you expect. Check a table, a footnote, and a page near the end. Ask for a source and page for each key claim. Keep a list of pages that could not be read.

Choose a public document you know. Ask about its start, middle, and end. Add a question that it cannot answer.

Check your understanding

A good result finds the supported facts and says when the source has no answer. An assurance that ‘I read it all’ is not a coverage test.
