The idea

Smooth writing can be wrong. An answer may turn ‘proposed’ into ‘agreed’ or ‘by April’ into ‘on 1 April.’ Each change can alter the legal point while leaving the prose easy to read.

What to check

Do not use tone as a test of truth. Check each important claim against the source. Ask two questions: Does the source support this claim? Did the answer leave out a fact or limit that changes it?

A model's confidence score is not proof. Nor does a second model's agreement settle the point. Both may repeat the same error.

Try it

The source says, ‘We expect delivery by April, subject to approval.’ The summary says, ‘The parties agreed to delivery on 1 April.’ What changed?

Check your understanding

An expectation became an agreement. A broad time limit became an exact date. The condition disappeared. Keep all three limits in a revised summary. If the record does not settle the date, say so.
