Maintain a short status note
Keep a concise note stating the objective, the current draft, decisions already made, unresolved questions, and the next action. Update it when a material decision changes. This is useful even when a tool has memory features: the note gives you an explicit record to inspect rather than an assumption about what the application remembers.
