Checkpoint
Also: checkpoints
A saved point in a long task that work can be resumed from.
The fuller definition
A workflow checkpoint records enough state to inspect or resume work. In model training, checkpoint also means a saved training state or model snapshot.
- Completed
A01 to A05
- Remaining
A06 and unresolved dates
- Resume
Continue from verified state
A simplified relationship, not a screenshot or a complete design.
A concrete example
A document task saves completed source IDs, unresolved items, and its output version before ending.
The distinction that matters
A status note saying “done” is not evidence that the required output exists or passed checks.
